as a kid, little dash used to sit in front of his parents' radio with a tiny little keyboard on his lap, trying to accompany every song that was played. shortly after buying an amiga computer in 1989, he started arranging his first dance music tracks on a simple four track sequencer program, mainly inspired by the omnipresent acid house sounds of the summer of '88. a few cheap analog synths became his longtime production companions soon after. undecided what musical genre to stick to, he dabbled in everything from hip hop to disco, from ambient soundscapes to detroit techno - however, always just for the matter of fun. it took this swiss guy 10 years to come up with the idea to send in his first demo tape, ... and here we go! the fab „casual friday" ep on morris audio is a deep, minimal and sexy piece of timeless house! respect!

should have talked a little more but, you know, there's not much left to say. i didn't take it badly, since i know her, and i soon begun to think it over: a biography; a biography of a just 25 year old girl, well... it can't take more than one chapter, or maybe less, only few pages. you can talk of the schooland the first travels, then you can talk of the signs of experience in the early works. the matter is that these earliest years of life, are those in which the very tools of perception, that you use to observe the world around you, are shaped. i'm in trouble: i can't wear the glasses, that a 25 year old girl watches through, to look at the world around, simply 'cause they're are not finished yet! true, some guys at the very same age of 25 have so much experience that their strong built personality stands out clearly. this is the case with eriko. however, i would rather talk of these streams of conscience than talk of relatives and flight tickets - 'cause, yes, eriko has been jumping quite a few times from japan to europe and back - and i think that this is what i'm going to do, indeed. there is finally a ray of light coming out of this fucking screen!

geoff white is one of the most upcoming american techno producers. if you think of clicks and cuts or the labtop sound, think also of geoff white. with releases on established labels like force inc., cytrax, lofi-stereo, morris audio, delay or background, he made his way with his tricky electronic sound. but not enough with that, he started his own label now, edit. edit embraces the concepts of reuse and redefinition. components are generated, arranged, and fine-tuned. they are stripped apart, processed, and rearranged. sophisticated editing techniques enable this process to continue without end. the resulting audio productions become remixes of themselves.

the ex grafitti writer j antoni, stockholm born and raised, started making music in '94. inspired by oldschool electro/funk and hip hop as well as sleazy chicago house and harmonic detroit techno, the first tracks were crafted with a 303, 808 and akai sampler. the early tracks were a potpourri of all the musical influences and didn't really get anywhere, but a distinct style began to evolve and in 1996 he started the collective and label urban electro squad. ues (short for urban electro squad) were one of the few (nearly the only) liveacts on the then flowering stockholm club scene. ues has had a variety of members since then (the only consistent one apart from j antoni being ruba, a close friend since the grafitti days), and a variety of releases on different labels in different styles ranging from beats to deeptechno to jazzy house, experimental stuff on his own ues label and a lot of remixes for other labels, all more or less produced by j antoni. in 1998, he teamed up with s krooks and formed betamax crew, with this project focusing on more cluboriented tracks. ever since, he's released tracks under the various monikers, and also under his own name. upcoming projects includes a collaboration with friend smyglyssna and a betamax crew album.

savvas "dj savage" georgiadis is a techno producer/dj from thessaloniki, greece. his activities in electronic music started in 1987 and since then savvas, using various pseudonyms/projects (like savvas, novatek, the repeater,neuro-d, digitalia) has released his music (ranging from deep mimimal techno to kickin percussive tools to freaky electro) through various labels like bellboy uk, harthouse, treibstoff, morris audio, contrast uk, pof, telepathy and hyperspace new york to name but a few. besides producing, savvas also used to write for music mags and is the owner of kinetik records, the only greek techno label. dj and live appearances include gigs in germany, sweden, yugoslavia, switzerland and austria. the greek dance magazine "freeze" called dj savage "the greek godfather of techno". anyway one chooses to see it, one thing is certain: savvas is definitely a "greek techno pioneer". http://www.kinetikrecords.com/
sam rouanet started playing violin and classical guitar at a conservatory at the age of 6. but a few years later he chose the electric guitar and started jamming with his father (who's an excellent jazz musician). despite early exposure to jazz through his dad and growing up with soul music, by the 90's sam developed a keen interest in the independent rock scene (bands like "fugazi", "no means no" or "helmet"). even back then experimenting with new sounds was mainly what he was aiming for! hip hop was also a big step for sam - especially in terms of production. the need to produce his own music became increasingly more important to him, especially after having met matt lux (the bass player from isotope 217°). sam then moved to chicago and got inspiration from the house and "post rock" scenes (which at the time wasn't even called that way but how else would anyone label tortoise's music, anyway). and so matt and sam formed a funk band called a.u.f.m. and started playing in the chicago local scene! sam then moved to london and his collaboration there with kinobee and scanone led him to concentrating on his own production work. back in france he met phil stumpf and so it was only after a couple of european tours with the band "OH" that the canvas / duplex100 and minimal dancin' adventures got started! two solo projects - reynold and babyreynold - also began developing around that time. he has been releasing several tracks on labels like dumb-unit or morris/audio and also his own label called trenton records that he's running together with chris clause (aka aspro). now he lives in berlin for new sharing experiences in terms of music, cultural and social exchanges!

Since 1989, Shaka has been the pseudonym for Swiss born DJ and producer Kurt Spichiger. Shaka’s first experiences with music came at the age of 13 when he learned to play the Saxophone. It was then that he realized how to create music out from a mood, an idea, and a feeling. This experience gave birth to his love for improvisational music, from Funk, to Jazz to Indian Raga. Soon after, Shaka discovered the seminal German electronic group Kraftwerk, whose innovative sound production would expand his idea of improvisation. As a young and curious music-lover, he always was looking for and open to innovative and exceptional music. After purchasing a mixer and turntables in 1989, he started to record his first mix tapes. With his steadily growing record collection, and inspiration of films like Beat Street, he initially mixed Hip Hop with Reggae, and Funk. Later, more Acid, Chicago House and the sounds of Detroit made their way onto his mix tapes, the latter having a profound influence on his development.
souichiro masutomi was born and raised in osaka, japan. influenced by his jazz drums playing mother and his new wave loving sister, souichiro grew up accustomed to movie music and some electronic new wave bands. he started learning to play the piano at the age of 9, but soon quit because he was bored. after hearing stuff like "soul 2 soul" or "public enemy" as a 12 year old teenager, he was captured by music. soon after he discovered the 2nd summer of love and his detroit techno heroes. he started composing tracks just for the fun, with a casio synthesizer, a rented guiter and a tape deck. souichiro discovered and listened to lots of different music, like classic music (especially french stuff), jazz like miles, blakey, gill evans, soul, soundtracks, rock, pop and hiphop. at the age of 20, he started making music seriously, and began to dj. a meeting with deetron was then the basis for his first release ever, the magic "4th cycle" ep on morris audio citysport. a beautiful piece of deep house meets detroit with that certain carl craig feel. a big career may have started!
superjuno aka cristiano vinci started his career as a dj in many clubs in central sardinia, italy at the age of 16. after a few years he decided to follow his musical creativity and inspiration by getting into computer music and producing his first tunes. his passion for vintage sounds and old synthesizers of the 80's helped him to define his personal style. 2005 is an important year for his musical career. finally he begins to use the famous roland synth juno 106 in almost any track produced in his home studio, the yellowlab: his alter ego superjuno was born. the first release as superjuno was in june 2005 with rock da bass, on the label of mr. planet funk alex neri, the italian tenax recordings. second release is groovy beat/i want my money back with his friend prudo, on the german dirt crew label. in 2006 started a new project with is friend massimo licari and decided to go out with a new tune, vision, this time using his own name - it's the very first release of presslab electro. with releases on morris/audio and tenax recordings, superjuno will be around!
takuya morita hails from niigata/japan, where it snows heavily every winter. he already began his music career at an early age, playing a toy keyboard. his move to tokyo in 2000 for university reasons also had an impact on his music: he became infected with the real underground club-sound, and was hooked especially on the minimal styled dance music. takuya morita stands for quality techno/house. kind of alex under meets robert hood, in a freaky way. so it's no surprise takuya released his first 12" on cmyk music, the label of spanish boy wonder alex under. with his first release for morris/audio, the 4-track ep „clutter", takuya morita makes anonther major step in his career. funky club music - ready to rock!

todd bodine was born in 1976 in berlin. after the berlin wall went down he was searching for identity in the young berlin clubscene. his fascination for the new electronic soundscapes and for djing grew very fast. 1997 he started playing records at the legendary tresor club as a resident dj. he played for a few years his detroit inspired sets, often on three turntables.
tom clark started his dj-ing in 1993. he was later casted at the legendary berlin-based " e-werk ", where he soon got an residency. due of the enourmous influence of this club, he started spinning in almost every location in berlin, later germany and europe-wide. since 1995 he is one of the resident djs at the famous tresor club, but one can find him spinning in every hot spot of berlin, be it the " ostgut, sternradio, polar tv (no ufos) so36, pfefferbank to name a few. his music style varied within the typpical berlin groove - from detroit techno to new school electro and back to deep house. apart from this spinning, tom was also the owner and in-house producer of the now deleted "gold plate music" imprint, which was highly influental for the younger record label scene of berlin. gold plate started in 1997 and some of germany´s most acclaimed new artists like "gebrüder teichmann" (now on kompakt, festplatten etc.) released here first. to get things going on, tom started two new labels in october 2000: "highgrade records", which is dealing with traditional and minimalistic deep house music and "laufwerk musik", which is an outlet for techno, elektro and "freaky" stuff. catch his productions on labels like highgrade, morris audio, superbra, rampe d, pokerflat or cabinet. with more than 100 bookings a year, tom clark is one of the most demanded djs in berlin, and he surely is one of the most creative heads in the ever-pumping berlin club scene. http://www.highgrade-records.de/
tom ellis and leif are behind the mighty "trimsound" label and are facing a bright future with their sound! tom comes from a very musical family up in the hills of north wales. highly influenced by his brother joe and close friend leif, tom puts a lot of his time into creating his own style of deep and funky dance music. his roots spread wide through all sorts of genres, leaving him with a drive to create lots of different styles whilst keeping the dance music as the main focus. as well as mixing sets of original material and producing for such labels as trimsound and mindtours, he works closely with leif towards live sets using loops and bass guitar - merging live elements with programmed beats and sounds.
gary spence started producing in 1997 inspired by patchwork melodies of the orb, the funky future soul of moodyman and theo parrish and the solitary oddness of two lone swordsmen not to mention a lot lot more. always relying on the instinct of making things sound original and as personal as possible with a disregard for current trends and fashions in electronica is the main inspiration these days and payback finally came from the debut ep on longhaul which received great feedback from a series of top djs. the ep never got past promo release though as the label folded shortly before release.
Barada is the original high maintenance funky robot.
Assembled in a creaky attic deep in Virginia in the USA around 1994, Barada was originally programmed to serve Richie Hawtin and John Acquaviva's Plus 8 offshoot record label "Definitive". Built from a multitude of scrap parts such as an Ensoniq ASR10, Roland TB303, SH101, TR909, Korg Wavestation, Poly800-2, JVC boombox, lots of soda and many late nights, Barada faithfully became the main work horse of his creator, programmer and neurotic mad scientist Bryan Zentz.
sleazy mcqueen was keen on electronic music even in his early days in the deep south. the central north carolina disco was sparse, to say the least, but with the help of a friendly farm combine, a chicken, and five hundred pounds of recyclable pabst cans, he began creating sounds far more complex than anything the townspeople had heard before. while honing his worthless production skills, he was soon involved in a scheme to lose great quantities of cashola. it was simple, really; each month, he and his evil twin maxula would hire world-renowned deejays willing to play for bargain prices and two-bit haybed accommodations to play for the two of them and one or two other townsfolk, and each month the pair would lose a few hundred more dollars. eventually, mcqueen's billfold was empty. persistent nonetheless, mcqueen spent the next two years relentlessly pursuing other sure-fire schemes to lose money, culminating in an all-out relocation to new york city.
marcin czubala began his adventures in music in 1987. between 1991-1994 he performed over 300 classical music concerts featuring big events such as "nantes festival" (france), "warsaw autumn" (Poland), "singapore international festival" and performances with experimantal music legend krzysztof penderecki in 1992. in 1995 graduated kurczewski's music school in poznan and begun his dj/producer career - going on a long way to support the polish independent techno scene.
first and foremost a musician with 10 years of classical music under his belt, mossa's instrumental background comes to colour his electronic compositions. his appetite for deconstruction led him towards hard-core music, but his passion for jazz and other musical influences always followed him through his musical journey. after years as a dj, mossa has ventured into producing , combining his many styles to create a body of work rhythmically solid and subjective, which is at times minimalist, amusing, and rarely symmetrical. using an assortment of plastic and static sounds collected here and there, he arranges an eclectic bouquet of rhythm and kick. he released on labels like cynosure, mo’s ferry, mutek, floppy funk, morris audio or orac and has been remixed by supreme producers like mike shannon, john tejada and ark. one of his milesstones is his first long play “some eat it raw” on circus company. with his record label complot, mossa is also dedicated to releasing, along with fellow artists, an uncompromising style in house music and minimal techno, bringing an air of freshness to the montreal scene.
in 2006 the story of andomat 3000 begun - the collaboration with his friend jan iwanitz originated in this year. since then andreas wiegand aka dj mahatma was an enthusiastic hard techno-dj and producer, who freshened up the hard techno scene with his innovative and inspiring sound: hard, powerful, unusual, absolutely sloping arrangements, sets and productions. however, the love for music leads him to different directions and he is never afraid of changing. he has been engaged in nearly every music genre, and then suddenly, as andomat 3000, he succeeded without contemplating with the releases on cadenza records. andomat 3000’s core principle is a funky groove that directly tells your body: move! his own definition of house music is - moving, driving, amusing - as you can hear in his music productions as well as live performances. his main interests are - the creative process in the studio as well as - the intense atmosphere of playing live in the club. jan iwanitz grew up in limburg near frankfurt/main. in his childhood he was inspired by the sounds of the 80’s and later got into all styles of electronic music. he started to buy records and made his first dj experiences in 1994. from then on he played small clubs as well as big ones like the famous stammheim in kassel. in 1999 jan also started to produce music, became a sound assistant and took a holding in a sound studio. but being a dj was still more important. by the time the stammheim closed, jan decided to go abroad for three years to get new energy and inspiration. after discovering the versatile possibilities of software synthesizers he decided to focus on music again. in the summer of 2005 he started several new projects with some friends. with only two releases (on cadenza records) andomat 3000 & jan managed to be all around!
in his teenage years, ralph was into the first electronic groups such as visage, soft cell and front 242, as well as a party maniac from the start. his own first sounds were produced back in 1990 on a commodore 64 computer, while his first dj sets took place at several acid parties in the frankfurt area in the same year. in 1996 ralph expanded his musical horizon with the purchase of his first studio gear. from then on, many electronic dance music productions were created. between 1996 and 1998 he was a system operator at compuserve, where he was in charge of managing the techno, house and dj zone sections of the music forum. ralph's first big releases came out in 1999 through neuton: schub ag - tritone rec., laut 29- black love rec., releases on frisbee tracks plus several compilations and ep´s followed on labels such as below rec., hartchef discos, morris audio citysport, sushitech uk, trimsound and the immensely prestigious i220 label. ralph's sound spectrum reaches from ambient over deep minimal house to pumping/ tribal techhouse and techno. masterfully produced and conceived, all his dancefloor productions have immediate appeal and will have you shake it like there's no tomorrow...
despite his young age and his different activities till von sein is been involved into
